Family Friendly Network is an independent guide to family days out in and around Adelaide. We publish plain-English guides in three areas: days out, including free outings, beaches, parks and rainy-day ideas; nature and culture, including the South Australian Museum, the Art Gallery of South Australia, Adelaide Botanic Garden and the hills around Waterfall Gully and Cleland; and planning, including getting around on public transport, sun safety, water safety and planning a day that works. Our free day out finder suggests ideas based on the weather, your children's ages and your budget.
Why we exist
This web address once hosted an Adelaide family events listing, which has since closed. Events calendars date quickly. We think families are better served by evergreen, independent guides to the places they return to again and again, with the practical details that make a day out work.
How we work
We write every guide in our own words. For facts such as opening hours, entry arrangements, transport rules and safety advice, we rely on official sources such as Adelaide Metro, the South Australian Museum, the Art Gallery of South Australia, the Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium, National Parks and Wildlife Service SA, Cleland Wildlife Park, Surf Life Saving SA and Cancer Council Australia. We list our sources on each page. We never invent statistics, prices, quotes or reviews, and we don't publish ticket prices, which change often.
Independence
Family Friendly Network (familyfriendlynetwork.com.au) is an independent information site. We are not a venue, council, tourism body or government agency, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by any venue, organisation or agency named on this site, any previous operator of this domain, or any business with a similar name.
General information only
Opening hours, fees, transport and rules change, and parks can close at short notice on high fire danger days. Always check with the venue or agency before you go. Our safety guides are general information and don't replace advice from lifesavers, rangers or health professionals.
