We value our readers and we are passionate about sharing the most up to date and relevant information including events, attractions, activities, and local and online businesses – with a unique point of difference – we care about families on a budget!
It started with South Australia….
Back in February 2012, “we” were a Facebook page sharing ideas for families looking for fun and exciting ways to entertain kids and spend quality time together as a family. The Facebook page grew in numbers and strength and we soon became an essential resource and valuable online community for families.
In 2014
The launch of our website was the next natural step and the popularity of the site, alongside our social media presence, has been highly influential in our continuing success. We proudly earned our reputation for providing an invaluable service with quality content that our readers genuinely appreciate.
And Grew….
Although we are proud of our website, there’s no mistaking that Facebook also plays an important part in how we operate. We are thankful that Facebook has enabled us to grow not only as a resource for families, but as a business too.
We listened to families and followed social media trends and recognised the need to expand our presence across Facebook groups, which now includes multiple Family Friendly AND Budget Friendly platforms – with a joint readership of over 170,000! Some of these platforms not only benefit families but also local businesses.
And along comes our brand-new website (launched February 2019), which is a long overdue central resource for our growing readership and network of platforms.
Initially the website will be South Australia focussed, this will be followed by Melbourne and then other states will eventually roll out. However, the site has been designed so you only have to look at the state you are interested in!
Along with the new website, we also have a new name – Family Friendly Network – which seems fitting considering our network of platforms and we feel it reflects our continuing growth and expansion!
And of course, the website has LOTS of exciting new features not seen on our previous websites. We are especially excited about the ticketing options which is something we have been wanting to implement for a number of years.
…And We Will Keep On Growing!
We aim to have a fully national site by February 2020, and our unique approach means we will, of course, be naturally expanding on social media with both state specific platforms as well as national platforms. We also have some other exciting plans in the pipeline (already being worked on). Watch this space!!
About “Us”
Family Friendly Network is managed by myself (Jo) with a little help from my children, and my husband has also been known to lend a helping hand. I am also very lucky to have help from some lovely people who ensure our What’s On Calendar is kept up to date and who also help keep our Facebook groups running smoothly.
My family moved to Australia over 13 years ago. At the time we had a teenager, a toddler and I was pregnant. We have spent these years living and exploring South Australia, with some fantastic family holidays further afield. We believe this is the best place to raise children and we can’t think of a better place to live and truly feel blessed and very lucky to be able to call Australia our home. I would like to think that the genuine love and passion we have for Australia shines through in our work.
