Overview

Ayers House is one of the last grand 19th century houses remaining on the southern face of North Terrace, Adelaide. It had been home to South Australia’s very own wealthy politician, financier and State Premier, Sir Henry Ayers and his family back in the 1800’s.

The unique house features a number of vintage, stylish and historical rooms which displays a range of colonial architecture and many decorative features. It also displays a large collection of 19th century antique furniture, silver, paintings and costumes. Several original collection items owned by the Ayers family are still preserved within the house.

Today, the Ayers House Museum welcomes all visitors to tour the many wonders of North Terrace's only grand 19th century homes remaining. Ayers House Museum provides visitors with an unforgettable experience of an accurate representation of a wealthy 19th century upper-middle class life style, similar to which the Ayers family had lived.
